Mold Services

As most of us spend almost 75-90% of our time indoors (home, office, school, etc.), Indoor Air Quality plays a major role in our lives. Temperature, humidity, water penetration, and food source promote growth of molds/fungi. Moisture and poorly ventilated areas are a major reason for their growth. Fungi, in general, also produce a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOC) characterized by musty or moldy odors that people associate with fungal growth in a building. If mold can be seen or smelled, it is a problem.

Procedures:

Testing:

Samples are always analyzed by an independent and accredited third party. NJ-Mold is fully equipped and trained to do Air or Material sampling/testing. A Mold/Fungal Assessment will be conducted to determine if microbial growth is present. Types and amounts of mold will be determined.

The Mold Assessment will include the collection of tape samples to determine the presence or absence of mold/fungus on a surface or substrate and identification of the type and amount of mold/fungus present. Air sampling is done to determine the amount of airborne mold/fungal spores.  Tape and air samples will be submitted to an independent laboratory certified by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) to determine the presence or absence of fungal growth/contamination.

Visual Inspection:

A visual assessment is conducted for the presence of mold/fungus, ventilation, dehumidification, temperature, relative humidity, cause of the problem, contributing factors (slope of property, drain pipes, plumbing leaks, prior flooding, insulation, roof leaks, etc.), and physical damage.

Water Penetration:

The source of water penetration must be identified and corrected before remediation work is started.

Written scope of work:

This will include a detailed description of the work to be performed and the costs associated with the work. NJ-Mold is available to answer any questions on the scope of work.

Preparation of the work area:

Once the customer agrees to the scope of work, NJ-Mold will prepare the work area. This includes containment to seal off the work area. HEPA filtration units are placed in the enclosed area.

Removal of contaminated materials:

NJ-Mold adheres to New York and OSHA guidelines as the basis for remediation, planning, and implementation. We remove all compromised materials from the premises.  Only proven, organically-safe enzymes are used in the remediation process. After the treatment is completed, the enzymes will evaporate without leaving any residue and, for a period of time, will form a protective barrier against future outbreaks.

Cleaning:

We use verified safe enzymes in the remediation process. After the treatment is completed, the enzymes will evaporate without leaving any residue and, for a period of time, form a protective barrier against future outbreaks. We strive to protect the health of families and properties.

Atomization:

We offer an all-natural enzymatic (NON-TOXIC) process for mold remediation

Clearance Testing:

NJ-Mold will conduct Post Tests in the treated area to ensure that mold levels are no longer elevated and it is safe.
